Catalina Island, My favorite get-away spot

I just got back from a 3 day weekend at Hamilton Cove in Catalina and I am amazed by the number of my friends who have never stayed on Catalina.  My husband has been going to Catalina for 40 years and used to do a lot of scuba diving, and he and I have been going for weekend get aways for many years as well.  We especially like to stay at Hamilton Cove which feels like you are on a Greek Island.

Avalon has some great restaurants,  I recommend Armstrong Fish restaurant ( it has a great deck next to the harbor, and the seafood salad has more crab and shrimp than any salad I have ever had ).  Catalina also has a fun 9 hole golf course.  The shopping is also fun.

Hamilton Cove has a lot of great amenities including beach cove, sand volleyball courts and barbecue area, swimming pool, exercise room, jacuzzi, grass croquet court, tennis courts, and an incredible miniature golf course with real grass, water creek, and sand traps !!!  Each unit comes with a golf cart for transportation to Avalon around the corner and to tool around the town.

My husband Bruce and son Ryan playing miniature golf.  Lot's of fun

Looks like a fun trip!  I actually feel more relaxed looking at your pictures :)  I've been to Catalina a couple times and it really is a great, different, stress-free trip.

Thanks for posting!
