The Rolling Hills Estates City Council Tuesday night approved the long-delayed plans for a residential development known as Butcher Ranch. The 11-home project at Palos Verdes Drive East and Palos Verdes Drive North, has been discussed on and off for decades. The homes will range from a planned 3,490 sq. ft. and 4,689 sq. ft.

The current proposal includes a Tentative Tract Map (Tract No. 52214) to subdivide the 8.55 acre site into 14 lots (Lots 1-13, and Lot A), the vacation of Casaba Road right-of-way (Lot A), a Neighborhood Compatibility Determination, and a Grading plan to establish a subdivision for 11 residential horsekeeping lots (Lots 2-12), with one lot dedicated to the City for passive use as a mini-park (Lot 1) and one Commercial-Recreation (C-R) designated lot to remain vacant (Lot 13).
