Great News on Proposed Rolling Hills Estates Dog Park !!!

Due to the great turnout of dog park supporters at tonight's Rolling Hills Estates City Council meeting,  the City Council on a 4 to 1 vote ( with only Judy Mitchell opposed ) agreed to send a letter to Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe strongly recommending that the County of Los Angeles work towards providing a dog park on the former Palos Verdes Landfill site.  Major Tem Steve Zuckerman and Mayor John Addleman made comments that they have never seen a larger turnout of the public in support of another community issue.

Bruce and I would like to thank all those who were present, especially those who spoke including the following that gave me their names after the meeting, including the Fine Family ( Art, Christine, and Erica ), Mary Ashla, Kim Van Biene, and Olga Jones.  You were all great !!!!   This was the first step forward in making a dog park on the former Palos Verdes Landfill site a reality.  I look forward to the continued support of all of you in this effort.

My husband Bruce, who has spent literally hundreds of hours on this effort over the last several years, and I are going to form a committee of volunteers who would like to work with us in researching issues that may arise during our lobbying efforts with the County.  If you are interested on working with us on this committee, please send me an email.   Again, congratulations on our reaching a significant milestone in making a dog park on the Palos Verdes Peninsula happen.

See Dog Park Proposal - Rolling Hills Estates for a complete description of our proposal.

Maureen - Congrats on the vote to move forward in getting your local dog park.  I remember a few years ago when my hometown, Simi Valley, went through the same process.  It took a few years but we finally got our dog park and it's such a great place.  Hubby and I love taking the fur babies there to play around with all the other doggies.  It's really a great place up in the hills and it's also a great place to meet other dog lovers too.
